Bendable Clay

Sculpey's Bake & Bend clay does just that-it bends. It molds, sculpts, and blends just like regular Sculpey, but once it's cured, it doesn't have the rigidity of regular Sculpey. Instead, it is flexible and rubbery. This makes it a very durable clay capable of things impossible with other clays. In addition to this, it is available in several bright colors.

Information

Bake & Bend clay is good for children, because a sculpture made of this clay will be more forgiving of rough handling and play after curing than any other clay. Its flexibility also makes it a promising candidate for making your own molds of favorite beads, buttons, or other things. Some people have used this clay for "knitting"-simply extrude the clay into a long strand, cure, and knit. Others mix this clay with another strong clay (Kato or Premo) and use that to extrude, bake, and knit, crochet, or weave macrame.

Some people have noted that Bake & Bend clay may not take re-baking (re-curing) as well as regular clay does-especially if it has been extruded and knitted.

Instructions

Bake & Bend clay cures at 285°F (140°C) for 20 minutes per ¼ inch of thickness. It is available only in multi-packs.
